Duotank has ISO 9001 certification, the standard for quality management.
Since November 1999, all pressure equipment with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar above atmospheric pressure is subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Pressure equipment needs to satisfy the requirements of the Directive and has to be provided with a CE-mark by the manufacturer. Without the CE Marking, equipment such as (steam) vessels, pressure tanks, heat exchangers and similar may not be traded within the European Economic Community (EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). The PED applies to all pressure equipment and fittings subject to a pressure in excess of 0.5 bar. This has considerably widened the scope of application. The requirements have also been made more specific. The new system divides the equipment into five incremental categories in terms of gravity on the basis of risk and complexity. The higher the safety risk, the stricter the requirements for inspection and supervision. Manufacturers of pressure equipment are legally required to comply with the requirements of PED. There may be consequences for failure to comply with PED. As manufacturer of tanks and pressure vessels, Duotank has adapted to this directive immediately by certifying our quality system according to PED-module H/H1 and ISO 9001, assisted by the notified Body (NoBo) Lloyd's Register-Stoomwezen. Duotank is permitted to execute independently a number of the procedures in the PED-directive prescribed inspections according to her certified quality system. All welders have been certified according to EN-standards. The tanks and pressure vessels meet the European conditions according to the PED and are tested to the design code ASME +U-stamp for countries outside Europe. The PED-directive has radical consequences, not only for manufacturers but also for the users of pressure equipment, engineering firms and other relevant parties. All Duotank products comply with the design code for the ASME U-stamp, which is required for combinations of pressure tanks and pressure-related products delivered to the United States.
The Dutch-market acceptance test (KVI) is the responsibility of the owner of the installation. Duotank is pleased to assist you in preparation for this.
